The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in '7.Batterie Luftsperr Ersatz Abteilung 1'. The abteilung was formed in August of 1939 in Bad-Sarrow. In June 1942 it was divided into an Ersatz and an Ausbildungs unit. The Ersatz unit was the entire war stationed in Bad-Sarrow.
These units where equipped with air barrier balloons and kites to stop air raids. These could reach a height of 7 km.
Interesting dogtag.
