The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 13.Kompanie Volksgrenadier Regiment 1235. The official name for the regiment was Grenadier (Führernachwuchs) Regiment 1235 and was formed in February 1945! It was formed from soldiers who served in the Fahnenjunker Schule I from Dresden and was put into action in the Kustrin area. The regiment existed out of Fahnenjunkers, Wehrmacht replacements (ersatz) soldiers and Volkssturm members.
During the fights in the Kustrin area it was part of the Panzergrenadier-Division Kurmark.
