The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Pionier Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Regiment 211. This regiment was formed in late august 1939 in Köln.. It trained and suppled soldiers for 211.Infanterie-Division (Sperrgruppe Eickhardt). In November 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Ersatz Regiment 211 and shortly after it became Grenadier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Regiment 211.
In September 1944 the regiment was mobilized and probably send to the western front.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
