Nice zinc Panzer Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 19 related dog tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted in a company of Panzer Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 19. This bataillon was formed in late April 1940 in Magdeburg as Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 19. It trained and supplied soldiers for (Panzer) Pionier Bataillon 4 & 19 and 8 other different Pionier Bataillons. In April 1943 the bataillon became Panzer Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 19.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
