Nice aluminium dog tag of a soldier who served in Flak Ersatz Abteilung 36 in used, but good condition.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 'Flak Ersatz Abteilung 36'. The abteilung was formed in the October 1939 in Wolfenbüttel with 4 batteries. In 1941 it was converted in to schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 36. It remained the entire war in Wolfenbüttel.
On the back the soldier carved in 'Astranka Pröllas'. Astranka is a Czech lastname. Pröllas is a small town in the Czech Republic. So it could be that this soldier served within the Luftwaffe as a Sudeten-German. There is also a date '8/7/40 - .....45'. This is probably the fact that he served from 18 July 1940 untill ....45, the rest was never filled in. On the other part we read 'Gef 83...' which is his Gefangenen nummer.
