Interesting Wehrmacht Pionier related close combat clasp award document grouping in used condition.
The grouping shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a Obergefreiten Josef Matuszak who served in the 1.Kompanie Pionier Bataillon 306. This bataillon was formed in late October 1940 and was part of the 306.Infanterie-Division. It first operated as an occupation force on the Belgium coast before it moved to the east in November 1942. It fought in areas like Don, Mius and Nikopol. In August 1944 the bataillon was destroyed.
