The plate shows overall normal signs of wear. It was issued during Christmas 1943 to members of the 5.batterie Marine Artillerie Abteilung 509. This abteilung was formed in April 1940 as Marine Artillerie Abteilung Jütland and in June of the same year is was renamed into Marine Artillerie Abteilung 509.
The 5.batterie was stationed in Farrupklit (therefor also known as Batterie Farrupklit) and was equipped with 4x 12cm canons. The diameter of the plate is 16cms. Marked on the back with 'Tura Kunst'.
