Beautifull private purchased Luftwaffe Flieger Feldwebel 4-Pocket Dress tunic or 'Viertaschenrock' with matching trousers and early Visor Cap.
This dress tunic and trousers are made of high quality fabric and 100% colour and fabric matching.
The tunic is damage-free and complete with all its buttons and period-applied early 'droop tail' Breast Eagle, Shoulder Straps and Collar Tabs. It includes loops on the left breast pocket for a medal and a set of loops (1 loop is broken) for a ribbon bar above the left breast pocket.
On the inside, the lining is intact. It has both internal waistbands and a maker's label at the neck.
The shoulder straps, collar tabs and yellow waffenfarbe piping on the edges of the collar indicate that the tunic belonged to a Flieger (Pilot) Feldwebel.
The tunic also features a beautiful hand-applied (post-war added?) 'Geschwader Boelcke' cuff title on the right sleeve. 'Geschwader Boelcke' (or 'Kampfgeschwader 27 Boelcke') was a medium bomber wing that saw action during the entire war. From the invasion of Poland, Belgium, France, during the Battle of Britain and the invasion of Russia (Operation Barbarosa) to the defence of the Third Reich at the end of the war.
The straight trousers are also in very good condition and free of damage. They are complete with all buttons and nicely marked on the inside with a very early (pre Third Reich) eagle.
The set comes with a very nice and early visor cap or 'Schirmmütze'. It is in used (see photos) but good condition, has a very nice shape and is complete with insignia.
The inside shows signs of wear. The black headband is broken in a few places, but this does not affect the shape or usability of the cap. The leather sweatband is present, marked 'Deutsche Leder' on the outside (although almost worn off) and marked on the inside with exactly the same early (pre-Third Reich) eagle as the trousers. The visor cap is also beautifull maker marked on the inside by 'Clemens Wagner'.
The size of the visor cap (bit difficult to measure) is approx. 57/58.
All in all a very nice Luftwaffe set, bought by the same person from the same tailor, as the fabric of the tunic and trousers match 100% and the trousers and visor cap have matching markings on the inside.
