Details

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a member of the Luftschutz who served within the 1.Kompanie Luftschutz Abteilung der Luftwaffe (motorisiert) 27. Before early 1942 the unit was known as Sicherheits und Hilfsdienst (mot) 27, hence the marking on the back.
We found out that this unit operated in from 1943 until aug 1944 in Romania to protect some oil fields in the area of Ploesti vital to the Reich.
Luftschutz related tags are not so easy to find.
