The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Luftnachrichten Kompanie Fliegerhorst Memmingen. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Memmingen
This airfield was the base for many different Luftwaffe units such as Kampfgeschwader 51 'Edelweiß' and Zerstörerschule 2.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
