The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Luftnachrichten Kompanie Fliegerhorst Ansbach. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Ansbach
This airfield was the base for many different Luftwaffe units such as Kampfgeschwader 155, Kampfgeschwadr 355, Kampfgeschwader 40, Kampgeschwader 77 and many more. To this day the airfield is still operational and used by the United States Airforce.
