The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted/ served in the Luftnachrichten Ausbildungs Kompanie Schweinfurt. This unit was probably part of the communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Schweinfurt.
This airfield was the base for many different Luftwaffe units such as Flugzeugführerschule 7 and Sturzkampfgeschwader 165. After the war it was in used by US airforces until 2014.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
