All the documents show overall normal signs of wear/usage. They belonged to a soldier named Sebastian Weissenbacher who volunteered the serve in the 13.Kompanie III.Bataillon Gebirgsjäger Regiment 100. Sebastian served in this unit (as part of the 1.Gebirgs-Division) from November 1935 until November 1940 and saw combat during the invasion of Poland (Lemberg) in September 1939 and in May 1940 in France (Aisne, Loire). He stayed in France until March 1941.
In November 1940 the regiment was transferred to the newly formed 5.Gebirgs-Division and was based in Germany till it took part in the campaign against Crete in April-May 1941. The regiment because famous because of his participation in this campaign. 

In October 1941 the Regiment was withdrawn to Germany. In February 1942 the division was transferred to northern Russia (Leningrad, Wolchow). On the 1st of October 1942 Sebastian was injured by a shot in the knee and repatriated to Germany. Ne never fully recovered and served till October 1944 with replacement and training units as an instructor.
According to one entry (see personal data sheet from 16.11.1943) he was involved in anti-partisan actions and the disarming of the Italian army in the period of August-October 1943 when serving with the 162.(Turk) Infanterie-Division in the Balkan States Croatia and Slovenia (although he officially served with Gebirgsjäger Ersatz Regiment 137 as part of the 188.Reserve Gebirgs-Division which was then based in northern Italy). 

On the 18th of October 1944 Sebastian was transferred to the newly formed Heeres Gebirgsjäger Bataillon 201, an independent Mountain Troops unit operating in the south-west Germany (Upper-Rhine, the Vosges. He was injured on the 28th of October 1944 and repatriated to Bavaria (Traunstein). 

Sebastian earned the 1.Oktober 1938 Anschluss Medaille, Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, Ostmedaille and the Bulgarien Soldatenkreuz des Tapferkeitsordens. Although not registered Sebastian must have also been awarded with the Verwundetenabzeichen and Kreta-Band.

The grouping consist out 20! different documents. This includes, among other things;

- Wehrpass with Portrait and a lot of entries.
- Document confirming that a Wehrpass was issued to him. With civil portrait.
- Wehrstammbuch. The counterpart of the Wehrpass. Contains same (and even more) entries. 
- Document the Sebastian he been accepted as volunteer. Signed by Oberstleutnant Hubert Lanz. (Knights Cross 1.10.1940, Oakleaves 23.12.1942)
- Request for the award of the Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber. Dated 16.09.1941. Award confirmed on the back.
- Statement by his unit (8.12.1944 confirming that he was injured at the Western front and is now in the Traunstein military hospital. 
- Personal data documents which contain relevant personal and military career data incl. campaigns involved in (a.o. Crete!), medals awarded, promotions.
