Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht Landsschützen related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within Landesschützen Bataillon 277. This bataillon was formed in June 1940 and moved to the Netherlands soon after were it was used as an occupation force and was stationed in Amsterdam. It fell under the command of the Wehrmachtsbefehlshaber Niederlande. In Mai 1944 the bataillon was used to form the II.Bataillon Sicherungs Regiment 26.
The 'O' on both parts of the ttag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
