Very nice and decorative Kriegsmarine Minensucher award document in good condition with 2 photos.

The document shows overall normal signs of wear. The medal was awarded to Maschinen Gefreiten Karl Köhler on the 10st of December 1942. The document is signed by Fregattenkapitän and Führer der 4.Sicherungsdivision Anselm Lautenschlager.
The document comes with a large photograph of Karl (size 17,5cm x 23cm), a photograph of the ship he served on (17cm x 22,5cm) and an interesting document which is a Certificate of professional training and technical use.
This last document gives quite a lot of interesting information about Karl. He served as a professional soldier from 1 Februari 1941 untill 8 Mai 1945 in the Kriegsmarine. From 24.8.1943 till 19.11.1943 he served in the 44.Minensuchflottille as a Heizer. This flotille had the task to secure the Western French coast. 
From 22.11.1943 till 26.3.1944 Karl went to the Marineschule in Wesermunde to be schooled as a Maschinenmaat. After succeeding he served in the 38.Minensuchflottille. This flottille patrolled the Dutch, Belgium and French coast. Its headquaters was in Le Havre. In 1945 the Flottille moved to Danish waters where it stayed untill the war ended.
