Nice Kraftwagen Transport related tag in used , but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the a Kompanie Kraftwagen Transport Abteilung 562. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 as Nachschub Kolonnen Abteilung 562 with 7.großen (large) Kraftwagen Kolonnen. It saw it's first action during the invasion of France as part of the 12.Armee and later, in 1941, in Russia as part of the 12.Armee. It was destroyed in September 1944 on the Krim.
In December 1944 it was rebuild as Kraftwafen Transport Abteilung 562 and was put into action in Italy as part of Heeresgruppe C.
and part of the 12.Armee. In 1940 it was part of the 6.Armee which participated in the invasion of France. Later that same year the regiment was part of the 2.Armee which operated in the Balkans. In 1941 it fell under the command of the 1.Panzerarmee which operated on the eastern front.
