The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The abteilung was formed in September 1942 in Riesa as Kraftfahrpark Ersatz Abteilung 4 and was part of Kommandeur der Kraftfahrparktruppe IV.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
