Very nice zinc Stalag related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a member/soldier who served within the Kommandantur Stalag VI/I. A Stalag or Stammlager was a prisoner of war camp. The 'VI' tells us the camp was in Wehrkreis VI and probably in the area of Nordrhein-Westfalen, because we found info on Stalag VI/H and Stalag VI/J. Unfortunately nothing on Stalag VI/I so it could be that this was a camp that only exsisted a very short time or the the roman 'I' is a misstamp and should be a 'J'.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
