The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted at the Jagdfliegerschule Schließheim. This school was formed in April 1934 and a year later is was renamed into Fliegergruppe (S) Schließheim. In June 1936 the school was disbanned, but rebuild again in April 1939 as Jagdfliegerschule Schließheim. In January 1940 it was renamed into Jagdfliegerschule 2
The school used different types of airplanes to train pilots such as the, Bf108, Bf109, Fw190 and Ju52. In February 1943 the school became Jagdgeschwader 102 and from July 1944 it was stationed and operated in Denmark.
Interesting note is that a couple of famous fighters aces were school at the Jagdfliegerschule Schließheim such as Werner Mölders, Adolf Galland and Josef 'Pips' Priller
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
