Very nice Deutsche Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen or 'Westwall' award document in very good condition.
The document shows overall normal signs of wear. It was awarded to Unteroffizier Otto Koch who served in the 3.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 87. It was awarded on 20 March 1940. This regiment was part of the 36.Infanterie-Division and saw its first combat during the invasion of Luxemburg and then France. It later fought on the eastern front.
The document is signed by Oberst und Regimentskomandeur Ernst Friedrich Dehner who later became a Generalmajor and earned the Ritterkreuz in October 1941.
