All 3 documents show signs of wear, but the Inf.Sturmabzeichen document should be handled with utmost care. All documents (medals) were awarded to Walter Raczinski. Walter served, first as a Gefreiten and later as an Unteroffizier in the 6.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 474. This regiment was part of the 254.Infanterie-Division and saw its first combat during the invasion of the Netherlands that started on the 10th of May 1940. The regiment approached the south of Rotterdam at about 7 kilometres. From here the regiment turned south and entered Belgium and then France.
The grouping consist out;

  • Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse issued on the 18th of May 1940. Signed by Generalleutnant Walter Behschnitt.
  • Infanterie Sturmabzeichen issued on the 8th September 1940.
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz issued on the 2nd of September 1943. Walter switched units at some point since it says Infanterie Regiment 365 on this document.
