Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in Infanterie Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Kompanie 515.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in October 1942 in the France as Infanterie Ersatz Regiment 515. It fell under Division 465. The Pionier kompanie was a unit within Regiment 515. In March 1945 the regiment became part of the 24.Armee and was deployed on the Swiss border. In April of that year it formed the Grenadier Regiment 736 under the 716.Infanterie-Division.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype.
