Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in Infanterie Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Kompanie 211.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The regiment was formed in September 1939 in Köln-Mühlheim as Infanterie Ersatz Regiment 211. It trained and supplied soldiers for 211.Infanterie-Division. Also known as 'Sperrgruppe Eckhardt'.
In September 1944 the regiment was mobilized as the Walküre-Regiment and deployed in the west.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype.
