Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in Infanterie Geschutz Ersatz und Ausbildungs Kompanie (motorisiert) 20.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. Infanterie Ersatz Regiment 20 was formed in the August of 1939 in Hamburg. From the beginning it trained and supplied soldiers for 20.Infanterie-Division. The Infanterie Geschütz kompanie was a kompanie within the ersatz regiment. In November 1940 the regiment was used to form Schützen-Ersatz-Regiment 57 and there was a new Infanterie Ersatz Regiment Motorisert 20 formed. Renamed in November 1942 into Grenadier-Ersatz-Regiment (motorisiert) 20. The regiment was dissolved in March 1943.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
Every Infanterie regiment had a Geschütz Kompanie. This was the 13.Kompanie. A kompanie was equipped with multiple 7,5cm leichtes I.G.18L and 2x 15cm schweres I.G. 33L.
