Very nice zinc staff-level Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier/NCO who served in the Stabskompanie I.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 554. This regiment was formed in February 1940 in Fulda and was a so-called Stellungs-Artillerie-Regiment. It was equipped with Polish captured artillerie pieces. The regiment was part of the 554.Infanterie-Division. From June 1940 on the division and her units operated as occupation troops in the Elsaß in the Mühlhausen area. In August 1940 the regiment was disbanned.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Nice tag of an Artillerie unit that did not exsisted very long.
