Very nice and uncommon Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It's marked 'H.L.4127' which stands for 'Hauptliste 4127'. After some research we found out that this code was used for the batteries of Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 37. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 in Königsberg. It trained and supplied soldiers for different Heeres-Küstenartillerie-Abteilungen/Regiments, Artillere Abteilungs and Artillerie Regiments. In early October 1940 the abteilung moved to Pilsen. In November 1942 a large part of the unit's batteries were used to form Artillerie Regiment 338.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
