The document is in overall good condition. The Verwundetenabzeichen was awarded on 17th of June 1944 to Josef who served in Stab.I.Bataillon Grenadier Regiment 672. This regiment was formed in March 1942, in France, from different regiments and was part of the 376.Infanterie-Division. It was sent to fight on the eastern front and saw its first combat in the Charkow area. The division and its units where destroyed in Stalingrad. Grenadier Regiment 672 was rebuild again with ersatztruppen in Holland in Februari 1943 and sent to Russia again later that year to fight in the area of Kirowogrod. It was destroyed in August 1944 in Jassy, Südukraine.
