The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the InfanterieGeschütz Ersatz und Ausbildungs Kompanie Grenadier Ersatz Regiment motorisiert 16. This regiment was formed in late August 1939 in Münster and formed the staff for the Ersatz Bataillons of the 16.Infanterie-Division also known as the 'Windhund Division'.
