Very nice press photograph in good condition of SS-Gruppenführer Generalleutnant Herbert Otto Gille.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Gille was Kommandeur 5.SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Wiking". Here he is talking to a Wehrmacht (Grenadier) soldier who got wounded during the battles of Kowel.
General Gille was the highest decorated Waffen-SS member of WW2. Earning the Ritterkreuz,Eichenlaub,Eichenlaub mit Schwerten, Eichenlaub mit Schwerten und Brillanten, Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, 2x Wehrmachtbericht, Ostmedaille, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen, SA-Sportabzeichen and more.
