Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Generalinspekteur der Panzertruppen Heinz Guderian.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. The paper caption on the back was removed, but some writing says 'Guderian in Befehlspanzer Invasion Normandie 44'. This sugest that the photograph was taken in 1944 when Guderian was Generalinspekteur der Panzertruppen.
By the looks of it the officer in front is wearing a Grossdeutschland cufftitle on his panzer wrap. In January 1944 the I.Abteilung Panzer Regiment 26 was attached to Panzer Regiment Grossdeutschland. The I.Abteilung Panzer Regiment 26 was a so-called Panther-Abteilung. They received the Panthers in the spring of 1944 and started traning with them under the command of the 116.Panzer-Division (Der Windhund).
The size of the photograph is 11cm*17cm.
