Nice, but tragic Gebirgsjäger related Wehrpass grouping.
All the documents show overall normal signs of wear/usage. They belonged to a soldier named Johann Lachermeier. Johann was drafted in the 1.Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Ersatz Bataillon 98 before he moved to the 3.Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Regiment 98 on the 16th of April 1940. With this unit Johan saw combat during the invasion of France in May 1940. From the 22nd of June until his death on the 29th of June 1941 Johann saw action during the invasion of Russia (see the 'Gefechtskalender' in the Wehrpass).
The grouping consist out of
- Wehrpass with portrait of Johann. Many entries. Earned the Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse for his actions in France. Johann was skilled to operated the K98,MG34 and the P08. He was also a schooled Melder.
- Arbeitspass with entries. Johann worked as a Locksmith before he was drafted.
- Führerschein with portrait of Johann.
- 2 Letters to his parents.
- A letter from Alexander Koch, oberleutnant und kompanieführer, to Johann's parents.
- Posthumously Certificate of Service time. Dated 7 August 1941.
- A document that Johann's father received 110 Reichsmark 'Sterbegeld'.
- Company bill from an order of 500 death notice cards.
- Beobachtung newspaper bill of the announcement of Johann's death.
- 14 other period documents.
