The card shows overall normal signs of wear. According to additinal information that we found, Josef died on the 19th of April 1943 in Tunesia, Afrika. Josef served in the 2.Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Regiment 756. This regiment was formed in November 1942. In the last days of Dezember it was shipped to Afrika as part of the 334.Infanterie-Division and under the command of the 5.Panzerarmee.
Gebirgsjäger items that are linked to the Afrikakorps are hard to find.
