Very interested and quite large Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 79 related grouping.
All documents show overall normal signs of wear/usage. They belonged to a soldier named Johann Perr who served in the 3.Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 79 from November 1937 - October 1939 which was part of the 1.Gebirgs-Division. In September 1939 his unit was active during the invasion of Poland (Lemberg area).
From November 1939 - April 1942 Johann served with the Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 118 of the 6.Gebirgs-Division. From july-November 1940 he was based in france and in December 1940 - February 1941 in Poland before the unit was transferred to Greece (Athens). In September 1941 the unit was sent to Finnland (Lappland, Murmansk) where he was injured (22 April 1942) by shrapnel in the forehead. Most likely due to this injury he served the rest of the war with training and replacement unit in Germany.
Interesting to note is that on the 7th of June 1941 Johann was convicted to 7 days confinement for galloping with his horse without permission. On the 26th of November 1942 he was convicted to 6 weeks in jail and reduction to the ranks (for attempted theft). The reduction of his rank was cancellend on the 1st of July 1944.
The grouping consist out 11 different documents. This includes;
