The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the FLiegerhorst Kompanie Werl. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Werl.
This airfield was the base for many different Luftwaffe units such as Kampfgeschwader 134 'Horst Wessel' , Zerstörergeschwader 26, Kampfgeschwader 54, Kampfgeschwader 77 and more.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
