The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It's broken, but complete. It belonged to a soldier who served at the Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Leithorst Nohra. This was the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Nohra. This airfield already existed during the First World War (1916). During the Third Reich period it was mainly a trainingscentre.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
