Nice Luftwaffe Fliegerhorst related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served at the Fliegerhorst Kommandantur (Einsatzhäfen) Neudorf. This was th HQ of Fliegerhorst Neudorf Einsatzhäfen (E-Häfen) which (now) lays in Poland.
In the mid-30's untill the start of the war an Einsatzhäfen was a camouflaged, unoccupied airfield that could easily and quickly be operational when the Luftwaffe decided to invade a neighboring country. After that the airfield styed operational.
Fliegerhorst Neudorf was used for the invasion of Poland which took place in September 1939.
The 'O' on the back of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
The tag is broken, but complete and solid.
