Very nice and harder to find Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Flaktransport Batterie 111. A Flaktransport Batterie was responsible for the transportation of ammunition, flak spare parts etc. to the non-motorised or partially motorised flak units of the Luftwaffe. They were also used to transfer non-motorised and partially motorised anti-aircraft units. In the early days they used commercial vehicles for this.
Flaktransport-Batteire 1/111 was formed in late August 1939 and according to information that we found it operated in France in the early stages of the Westfeldzug. In early 1942 the unit was renamed into schwere Flak-transportbatterij 67/XI and now probably equipped with heavy halftracks. It operated on the eastern front.
