The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in a Batterie of Flak Ersatz Abteilung 38. The abteilung was formed in the August 1939 in Linz with 4 batteries. In 1941 it was converted in to schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 38. It remained the entire war in Linz. In 1944 the abteilung was increased to 8 batteries.
On the back the remains of the soldier's pow number can be read.
