Nice worn zinc dog tag from a soldier who served in a Batterie of Flak Abteilung 233 erkennungsmarke.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in a Batterie Flak Abteilung 233'. This abteilung was formed in April of 1940 in Dresden with 5 batteries as Reserve Flak Abteilung 233. In 1941 it became a Schwere Abteilung. The whole abteilung, except the 4.Batterie, was stationed in Essen the entire war. The 4.Batterie was stationed in Rostock and later Braunschweig.
The 'A' on both sides of the tag stands for the bloodtype.
