Death Notice card of Ludwig Bauer who died during combat in Tunisia, Afrika in 1942.
The card shows overall normal signs of wear. According to the additional information we've Ludwig served in the 8.Kompanie Fallschirmjäger Regiment Barenthin (also known as Luftwaffen Regiment Barenthin). This regiment was hastily put together with Staff Personel, FJ schoolpupil, reserve gliders pilots and FJ Flak soldiers. It was formed in November 1942 in Italy and was send to Tunisia where it fought fiercily against the Americans. It was destroyed in 1943.
Ludwig was KIA on the 1st of December 1942.
Fallschirmjäger Regiment Barenthin related items are not easy to come by.
