Nice Fallschirmjäger erkennungsmarke in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. The number 210488 tell us the soldier served in the 7.Kompanie Fallschirm-Jäger-Lehr-Regiment 21. This regiment was formed in September 1943 as Fallschirm-Jäger-Lehr-Bataillon in Italy. Renamed in to a Regiment in Januari 1944. It saw combat in Anzio-Nettuno in that month.
After retreating in Februari to Nevers (France) the regiment was refit/rebuild and named Fallschirm-Lehr-Regiment 21 in June. In August 1944 it was stationed between Meulan and Mantes as part of the 6.Fallschirm-Division. Parts of the regiment was captured.
