Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Pionier related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Ersatz Kompanie für Pionier Züge Motorisiert Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 104. This bataillon was formed in late August 1939 in Darmstadt and trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 104 and Infanterie Regiment 629. In December 1939 the bataillon was used to form the I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 321 and disbanned. It was newly formed in Janaury 1940 in Posen, but in December 1940 used to form Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 437.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
