Very nice Divisions Nachschub Führer 2.Fallschirmjäger-Division erkennungsmarke in used, but very good condition.
The tag shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier that served in the Divisions Nachschub Führer 2.Fallschirmjäger-Division. The was the transport unit of the 2.Fallschirm-Division.
The Nachschub Führer was formed in 1944 and send to Normandy, but saw little combat and the division and her units became a reserve division in July 1944. In August and September the division was put into action during the defence of Brest, France. At Brest it got destroyed and only Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 and the I.Bataillon Fallschirmjäger Regiment 2 managed to escape.
The division was reformed in September 1944, this time in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
The 'AB' on the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtyp. The 'T' is a still a bit of a mistery. It could be tetanus.
