Death notice card of the decorated Feldwebel Valenthin Pointner who died during combat in the area of Skubrij, Russia.
The card shows overall normal signs of wear. According the notice Valentin died on the 1st of Februari 1943. He served in the 8.Kompanie Gebirgsjager Regiment 144 at the time he died. This regiment was formed in March 1942 and was part of the 3.Gebirgs-Division. Before his service in Regiment 144 Valantin served in Gebirgsjager Regiment 100 and was a veteran of the invasion of Poland, France, Yugoslavia, Greece and Crete.
Valentin was decorated with the EK1, EK2, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen Ostmedaille, Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz and other medals.
