Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the Kolonne Bau-Bataillon 64.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. Bau Bataillon 64 was formed from RAD members in August 1939 and consisted out of the Stab, 4 companies and a Kolonne. The bataillon saw action during the invasion of Russia in 1941.
In August 1943 the bataillon was renamed into Bau-Pionier Bataillon 64. In the summer of 1943 the bataillon was put into action in the area of Tataresti, Rumania. In the final stage of the war the bataillon saw action in Hungary as part of Heeresgruppe Süd.
Kolonne marked tags are not easy to find.
