Nice Wehrpass + sleeve that belonged to a soldier who served within Bäckerei Kompanie 522.
The Wehrpass shows overall normal signs of wear. It's solid and complete with all pages. Every page with interesting entries have been scanned. The pass belonged to Leopold Neuwirth. Leopold was drafted in August 1939 in the Bäckerei Kompanie 522 as a baker. With this unit he participated in the invasion of Poland and later in the invasion of France. On the 1st of Februari Leopold was promoted to the rank of Schutze and on the 1st of April to the rank of Gefreiten.
The original matching protection sleeve comes with Wehrpass.
Leopold also served in the German army during World War 1. He served in Infanterie Regiment Nr.59
from 1.8.1916-1.9.1919.
With this regiment he particitpated in the Sudtiroloffensive in 1916 and later fought against the Italians.
Nice set of an important unit within the Wehrmacht that is not so common to find.
