The overall condition of the document is excellent. The Verwundetenabzeichen was awarded to Unteroffizier Hans Schlangen who served in the Stabbatterie I./Artillerie Regiment 342. This regiment fell under the 342.Infanterie-Division and saw combat in Jugoslawien in 1941 and after that it spent the remaining of the war in Russia. It was destroyed in the famous 'Halbe Kessel'. The VWA was awarded on the 3rd of Januari 1942 for the wound he got on the 28th of November 1941. The document is signed by Major and Abteilungs Kommandeur Caesar
