Very nice MG. erkennungsmarke in worn, but good condition.
The dog tag shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in 8.Kompanie M.G. of Infanterie Regiment 154. The regiment was formed in August 1939 in Oldenburg and was part of 54.Infanterie-Division. It saw its first combat during the invasion of Luxembourg and then France. It fought fiercely against the French in the Verdun area. After France it was moved to the east for the invasion of Russia. Interesting dog tag with a rich history.
