Very nice Artillerie Regiment 211 erkennungsmarke in used, but excellent condition.
The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 8.Batterie (1st Feldhaubitze) Artillerie Regiment 211. The regiment was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 211.Infanterie-Division. It participated in the invasion of France and later (January 1942) in Russia. It fought in areas like Brjansk, Newel, Kowel. In late November 1944 the division was renamed into the 211.Volks-Grenadier-Division and was put into action in Hungary.
The interesting and uncommon thing about this tag is the number of the howister '1.Feldhaubitze' that was stamped on.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
