Very nice Fallschirmjäger related award document grouping in good conditon.
The set shows overall normal signs of use. All 5 documents are framed. One of them, The EK1 document, has been reframed. They belonged to Wachtmeister Erich Albersmyer who first served in the Stabsbatterie I.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 173. This regiment was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 73.Infanterie-Division. With this division the regiment was put into action during the invasion of Poland, Luxemburg and France. After France it was put into action in Rumania, Greece and Yugoslavian before participating on the Eastern front in October 1941.
Here it fought in areas like Jassy, Krim, Mius and Novorossisk.
At some point in 1943 Erich switched units and became a solder of the 7.Kompanie Panzer Artillerie Regiment Hermann Göring. This regiment was formed in February 1943 and was put into action in Salerno, Italy in September 1943. On the 17th of September Erich got wounded and he received the Woundbadge in Black in November of that year.
In September of 1944 the regiment was renamed into Fallschirm Panzer Artillerie Regiment Hermann Göring. In that same month the Fallschirm-Panzer-Division Hermann Göring moved to the Ostpreussen-Kurland area and fought against the advancing Russians.
The lot consist out of;
- Group photograph of the Unterstab of Artillerie Regiment 173. Dated 1939/1940.
- Deutsche Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen (Westwall) award document signed by Oberst und Kommandeur der A.R.173 Wolgang Hauser. The document is dated June 1940.
- Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse award document signed by Generalleutnant Rudolf von Bünau (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub). Dated November 1941.
- Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz document while serving in Panzer Artillerie Rgt. HG. Dated 15 November 1943.
- Eiserne Kreuz 1.Klasse as Wachtmeister in the 7.Kp./Fsch.Pz.Art.Rgt. H.G. Dated 10 June 1944.
